What the application involves
PSARA takes more work than most registrations because the people behind the agency are verified too. Expect the process to cover:
- Application to the controlling authority for the districts you want
- Police verification of the directors or partners
- A tie-up with an approved training institute for guard training
- Proof of the agency's constitution, address and financial standing
- Undertakings on antecedent verification of the guards you employ
One district or the whole state
The licence is granted for a stated area of operation. Agencies often apply for one district, then pick up work in another and have to go back for an amendment or a wider licence.
If you expect to take contracts across Haryana, plan the coverage properly at the start. Expanding piecemeal costs more.
Renewal and ongoing duties
The licence has to be renewed, and the duties continue in between. Verification of guards, training records, and keeping to the conditions the licence was granted on. Agencies that treat it as a one-time formality struggle at renewal.
Common questions
How long does police verification take?
This is the least predictable part and it varies. It is the main reason PSARA takes longer than other registrations.
Can I operate in more than one district?
Only within the coverage your licence was granted for. Going wider means an amendment or a fresh application, so plan the coverage at the start.
